From May 22 through June 21, 2026, the Museum Quarter in The Hague will once again transform into a dynamic open-air museum with BlowUp Jubilee, a remarkable anniversary edition of the beloved art exhibition BlowUp Art. This special edition celebrates the fifth anniversary of the iconic inflatable artworks and, for the first time, brings together all the highlights from previous years in one grand visual spectacle.
In his ‘Ode to the light bulb’, Theo Botschuijver honors a technological icon. Although largely replaced, the incandescent bulb remains foundational to later innovations. A pioneer in inflatable art since 1967, Botschuijver highlights its cultural and historical significance and its enduring role within visual and musical iconography.
